Bank Of America
Ripoff fraudulent nsf charges fraudulent collections practices

Business & Finance

I was also ripped off by Bank of America.in June I noticed that Bank of America was charging me with multiple NSF fees. When I referenced my check book and compared it to the online listing, it was totally different.

They posted the higher dollar amount transaction above several smaller amounts, so that they could charge me with 3 or 4 $35 NSF fees instead of one for the larger item. I was beside myself. When I called them on it, they said that's how we do things here. I tried getting the fees returned to me but they refused.

I called my employer right away to stop my next paycheck from being deposited. I only deposited the amounts I spent. I did not deposit enough to cover the illegal fees they imposed on me. I paid for one fee, which was what I knew I owed.
I then opened an account at Washington Mutual, which posts all debit transactions in real time. I haven't had an issue since.

I wrote a letter to Bank of America and told them to close my account. Which they did. They also sent me a letter stating that my account was closed with a zero balance. I cannot find this letter now, because I was moving at the time.

The real cherry on top of this, is that BofA sent me to collections for about $130 saying I owed even more fees! I have explained in detail to the collections guy that I did not owe this money, but they still call me every 2 days. This can't possibly be legal.

I noticed other people have complained on this site about the same activity. Bank of America must be stopped. They are trying to ruin people by posting checks in whatever order THEY decide.
It's not right.
