Ripoff

I was also ripped off by majestic benefits. I payed a 299.00 processing fee for the card. I ask the representative if the card actually had a 5,000.00 dollar crediut limit and was assured that the card would arrive with a spending amount of 5,000.00 as well as other so called great benefit. When I received the packet which was past the 60 day refund period I contacted the company. I was placed on hold for hours and when I did reach the representative she told me the card was a prepaid master card and that I would have deposit my own money on the card, at that point I knew I had been ripped off. She told me i had to send a certified letter requestung a refund and that I would be contacted by a corporate representative with 10 business days after receiving the certified mail.

I contacted my bank and they told me there was nothing they could do, and I didn't know my rights so I gave up. Nevertheless I continued to try to contact the company and the phone just rang off the hook. I just recently tried to contact Majestic Benefits and the number was listed as a none working number. I live in State of Florida and my house was destroyed due a major storm along with the receipt of the registered letter that was sent to Majestic Benefits. I applied for the card with the vacation money that I was saving to take my kids on a summer vacation. I thought the card would be a great oppurtunity to cover expenses for my vacation as well as help me to restore my credit. I am a single mother of three and a fulltime student. I work a part time job and i already have a Debit/Check with my bank, there is no way I would have agreed to paying 299.00 dollars for a prepaid mastercard. It has been well over nine months - is there anything i can do to get my money, or should I take it as a 300.00 dollar lesson.
