Horrendous customer service ripoff

They have a nice website. They seemed very nice at first. They don't promise to find you anything, they just promise that they'll try. Fair enough because I have really bad credit anyway.

It was a long-shot. I was trying to find a loan that would let me consolidate all of my debt into one manageable montly payment. Imagine my surprise when they called me back and said after several attempts, they had found a lender for me, willing to loan me $10,000! I was ecstatic. It would be enough.

The only catch? I'd have to purchase life insurance in case I died or defaulted on my loan. Hm... Okay, I could handle that. I emptied my very sorry-looking account and borrowed some money from a friend to pay the insurance. I was assured that my funds would be in my account by the next business day. That was a Friday.

On Monday morning, no funds. I tried to get a hold of someone in the office, to no avail. I left messages. The next day, a woman called me back saying she was so sorry about the delay but there'd been a mistake on my paperwork. My APR was lower, but my insurance premium was higher. If I got this taken care of before the end of the day, the funds could be there the next day.

She even said that she was emailing me the new loan documents right away. I waited and they never came. She said she would try to resend them.in the meantime, I went and paid the rest of the insurance premium with borrowed money. I tried to get a hold of her, but I just got her office voicemail.

Fair enough. I hadn't gotten the money in on time. Surely tomorrow I could finish this up. Well, the next day, I could not get a hold of her. I kept trying. I called a different extension. The woman said that the lady I was trying to get in touch with had a family emergency, but the woman I spoke with was familiar with my file and said she would page her supervisor at home to give me a call.

I never received a call and ever day since then have been unable to contact anyone except for once. The second day after I paid the premium off, I got a hold of a lady who said the woman I was looking for was there and at her extension. No one picked up.

Is this a scam or just very bad customer service? I'm not sure, but I'm still trying to get answers. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated as now not only am I in debt, I'm more broke than before!!
