Capital One
Credit bureaus told account was closed by the bank, not by me

Business & Finance

I had a secured card with Capital One. In March of 1997 I sent a letter telling them I was closing my account, asked that my savings account be transferred to pay off the balance, and I enclosed a check for the remaining balance. Capital One didn't process the check that I sent for six weeks or more. They charged me interest and everything else. They finally agreed, I do not owe them. They made false reports to the Credit Bureaus. They never reported my actual high. They reported that my account was closed by THEM when I CLOSED my account. They have yet to correct the way it is reading on my credit. I would really like to get a lawyer to sue them, but I have come to the conclusion they are not worth put someone through all the aggravation. I would just like a letter correcting the way it reads sent to all the credit agencies and one to me. Stay away from CAPITAL ONE.
