Question about credit report inquiries Ripoff

Business & Finance

I was recently contact by NCO about a credit card I defaulted on 10 years ago, The rep was suprisingly pleasant - I was ready for battle after reading all these reports - She asked me if I was going to take care of it I told her no I wasn't she asked why I told her the SOL has expired the debt was 10 years old I told her that all delinquent reporting had fallen off my credit report and I now have an excellent credit score. She tried to argue with me about paying it but I kept going back to the SOL she ended up stating that they could pull credit inquiries on me every 4 months and that would affect my credit score, I told her if it affected it would be very minimal nothing to worry about she ended up tongue tied I then sent my cease and desist letter to them and have not heard anything from them again - Smart on thier part, I am a Senior Collector for a small credit union and I know the laws I do not get paid commision I get paid wether or not the members pay thier loans I have a philosophy that these members do not owe me the money so I do not abuse them we have very few people in collections most are on payment arrangements I am appalled at some of the collection tactics from other companies and thank god that I work for a credit union and not a junk debt buyer anyways I was curious to know if you can dispute an inquiry on a credit report they have no valid right to pull it that I am aware of. Anyone know?
