Three Cashed Money Orders Never Applied, $1,040 Refund Requested

Since February we have been trying to get a refund from CitiMortgage for three money orders that were cashed but never applied to our account. We have faxed proof of the cashed money orders to CitiMortgage's Payment Research Department, but they keep claiming that they never receive them.

We have spoken with numerous people at CitiMortgage to try to resolve this issue. They claim not to have a telephone number for the Payment Research Department, so we cannot contact them directly. We have a FedEx receipt showing that CitiMortgage signed for the money orders on 01/07/04. We also have proof from Western Union showing that these money orders were indeed cashed by CitiMortgage.

We are requesting that someone from your Payment Research Department contact us immediately to resolve this issue. We are requesting a refund of $1,040.00 plus an additional $36.39 in costs we incurred to obtain the money order proofs from Western Union. We are also requesting that any negative comments or reports made to our credit reports by CitiMortgage be removed. All of our documentation is attached.

We have also filed complaints with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau of Virginia.
