Ripoff my money

I got a letter in the mail to renew my membership but if i didnt want to all i had to do is write them and confirm my cancelation so i did that. I go to my bank and they said cca took out the membership fee which i thought i cancelled, so then i called cca to try and get my money back they said i only cancelled the benefits to it not the membership and that i have to write them again and tell them to cancel the membership and that my money is not refundable. You would think if you cancelled it, it would apply to everything.
