Fraudulent Billing, False Account placed on my credit account. Du

After being denied for a credit card I applied for, I was told I was denied because of an account I have with AT&T with an balance of ($177.00) I checked my credit report and low and behold there it was printed in bold letters. This so call account is not for a phone bill, Palisades have this so call account listed as a Savings & Loan! Under the heading 'Creditor Classifacation' it said's BANKING!

The rep from the credit card company told me it was a Savings and Loan account! I had no idea
AT&T was leading money! Twice I've tried to dispute it with EQUIFAX. But they insist the account belong to me. I've even contacted AT&T and there is no record of this account. My question is, 'How did palisades collections get my name along with others? This is FRAUD! They are ruining my credit! Because of them I can't get a credit card or anything that's associated with credit. Please tell me how I can correct this matter.

How can I stop them from causing futher damage.
