Pedigree Store At Park Meadows Mall
(Lori Senecal) Sold an extremely sick puppy

This store already has a horrible reputation. To add to this, they try to hide being contracts that seem to give them the idea that they can do sell a sick puppy without consequences. We adopted a very small, young puppy from this store.in the store, the puppy was very lethargic and timid. This puppy was left in a container with other puppies. Fecal matter was everywhere, and every dog must be getting infected with giardia (as well as other parasites) - which is why the store tries to sell the puppies as soon as possible by advertising major sales. The puppy we adopted came home and immediately refused any food and drank water sparingly. To maintain the puppy's health, we had to take the puppy to the emergency vet twice and once to a regular vet within the first 4 days. The puppy was not in any shape to be adopted and if we had not adopted the puppy when we did, it may have died due to the lack of attention and care from this store. A vet confirmed that this puppy, on the day the vet examined the puppy (four days after we brought it home), was not fit for adoption... Or, as the store states it, "not fit for sale."
We clearly can see that the store does not care about the well-being of the animals it sells. Several calls to the store (and extensive phone conversations with the salesmen and the store manager) have resulted in no response from the owner of the store. This is after the store manager promised profusely that the store owner would contact us back.
Considering this store has a poor rating with a number of consumer groups, including the Denver BBB, and considering animal rights group as serious as PETA have protested this store, it is amazing the store is still in business and the owner has not been severly fined or shut down. Any other organization would attempted to do anything they can to fix their image; this store, however, refuses to do anything, assuming that it will all go away. The irresponsibility and lack of compassion for a pet store is inexcusable.
