Quick Checout Lanes

What is up, or down, with the WalMart store on Hulen Ave.in Ft. Worth, TX? One side, the grocery side, will have just a couple of quick lanes open while the other side will have NONE. I inquired to some dorky, fat, bald headed mgr. Who got very sarcastic with me (I returned the "favor) and told me if I didn't like it to shop else where, which I did. WHY can't one or two quick lane be open on BOTH ends of the store??
