Directv agreement complaint

I will be honest I loved direct TV for the longest payed $120 a month for their services. BUT when times got hard and I couldn't afford my bill they disconnected my service that was no big deal I under stood. Ha yeah until I checked my account tonight and they took $223 out unauthorized witch is against the law. I needed that to pay my rent. I'm so angry... They said when I agreed to save my ATM debit card on file that was a verbal agreement for them to collect any past due balances bull shit. I had no conversation with a representative stating that, I did not sign my name electronically or on paper agreeing to that. Nor was I told on paper that by saving my ATM debit card number on file with direct TV that GAVE THEM AUTHORIZATION TO COLLECT ANY BALANCE DUE! This world is crooked and because they are big company I don't think it gives them any right to screw people over. And just for the record like I said I did love direct TV and my husband and I had all intentions on paying as soon as we could. I'm seriously thinking about taking this to our local authorities in public office.
