We went to Best Buy to purchase a 55" LED 3D TV, but before we could even purchase the TV the Best Buy employee ushered us to the Direct TV people and they wrapped us into the nightmare of our life. #1 - We signed a two year contract with Best Buy's Direct TV people not knowing that their computers and sales force does not connect to national Direct TV. #2 - The installer was some yahoo from Baton Rouge, LA that was 1 of 2 installers for Lafayette, LA. He came out and worked for 8 hrs. Trying to get a line of sight for the satelitte receiver. It never happened. The 3 receivers in the house were activitated before the line of sight was complete. When I said it was time to call the installation off, the installer packed up his gear, failed to deactivate the receivers, and did not put the orginals receivers for our cable company back where they should have been. #3 - We called the Best Buy Direct TV people and cancelled the service, but they did not tell the national Direct TV people we had cancelled nor did the installer deactivate the Direct TV receivers. It the mail comes a bill for the first month's service. When we called to say we do not have Direct TV service, the Best Buy Direct TV people ask us to send a copy of the credit card statement showing where national Direct TV charged our account. I could never get the national Direct TV to hear my plea that the installation never went down. I finally had to call the installer (luckily I had his number in my cell phone because he had to call me three times to find my house the day of the installation). I ask him to please deactivate the receivers because it appeared to national Direct TV that we had service. We could never convinced the Best Buy Direct TV that our story had occurred. The manager of that division avoided me for 2 days, not returning my calls. Finally she did on the 3rd day after the installer corrected the problem by deactivating the receiver that he failed to do on the day of the failed installation.
#4 - To add insult to injury the national Direct TV people said they would refund the money, not on the credit card where they took it from, but they would be sending a check that would not arrive for 6-8 weeks. #5 - We do not have TV reception, cable box is disable and our cable company is unable to send someone out until July 16th. From start to finish we have been inconvienced for 2 wks with no reception for our TV, but we are having to wait 6-8 weeks to receive a refund. What a fiasco!!! DO NOT BUY into BEST Buy's connection with Direct TV... It is a mess. If you want Direct TV, go directly to Direct TV. Best Buy is getting a huge kick back on this set up from Direct TV. We will no longer buy our products from Best Buy. They have always been a reliable company, but after this I question their reasoning partnering with Direct TV.
