Washing machine install refused, terrible online chat service

I ordered a washing machine online, with delivery scheduled for 3 days later. The first problem was that I selected a delivery time online. I found out later that the time cannot be selected and is scheduled by the delivery company with a 4 hour window, even though they had asked me to select a time online. OK, I could live with that.

Next, when the unit was delivered to my house, the delivery man said he could not install it because I have a "custom" installation. I asked, "Hold on, all you have to do is unscrew the current hoses and install new ones, right?" He said, "Can't see what is in the wall." I have the water turned off by handles right there, and I asked him to simply remove the current hoses and screw in the new ones. He said no, he could not do it.

So I called the delivery service number. They told me the work is subbed out (so Home Depot subs to a sub who subs again, hmmm). The delivery company told me they have a lot of trouble with this sub and will lodge another complaint. I said thanks, hung up and contacted Home Depot.

I reached them in the online chat, and this is where they lose my future business forever. I am canceling my account and credit lines with them. I could not believe this young lady's chat response. Terrible customer service. She told me I am not paying for installation (I countered with the argument that the unit price includes installation).

I am on my way to Sears to select another unit. I am done with Home Depot. I had them install a roof, and they had to return at least 6 times with problems with the installation during installation, and many times for leaks after.
