Wal-Mart
Phone calls more important than customers

Advertising

The neighborhood Wal Mart that I used to shop at is quite busy. The customer service cashier desk typically has a long line of people wanting money orders, keys, cigarettes, etc. The cashier also answers the phone for the store.

Without fail, she stops what she's doing to answer the phone. I can understand if it's a quick transfer to the pharmacy or a call out to the manager over the pa system. But when it's a customer, asking if they sell a certain item, by all rights the person should be placed on hold and take his or her place in line like everyone else.

Why are people on the phone more important to Wal Mart than living, breathing customers with cash in their hands? They wouldn't allow an in-person customer to cut to the front of the line, so why do they allow an anonymous person on the phone to do so?

The final straw happened yesterday when I bought a box of ice cream sandwiches. We opened the box this evening and every sandwich had been completely melted and refrozen. They are a disgusting mess. You know that box had to be sitting out for quite some time for them to melt completely.

The first issue involves lousy customer service. The ice cream issue involves a health hazzard and it's the last time I will EVER shop at Wal Mart.
