Why can't I play MMOs?

Ok, so with direcpath I get major lag and an extremely high ping, like 15000 ping to WoW, Aion, Guild Wars, and Minecraft servers.

Why does DirecPath throttle/shape/whatever to make these games unplayable?

I'm in Lake Lanier Club in Gainesville GA, everyone I know in the complex has the EXACT same issues with online gaming.
I have 10Mbps, direct ethernet to the modem, and nothing else going on on the network. Explain this!
