Bogus Cancellation Charges

DirecTV retains billing me for bogus termination costs. I initially bought 2 DVRs from DirecTV and decided to a 24-month contract. Within the 24th month our DVR quit functioning. We named DirecTV assistance and after going right through their difficulty shooting was informed we required an upgraded DVR. We were informed we'd need to pay shipping & handling and we'd need to return the damaged DVR (that people possessed). Simply no reference to any car expansion of our unique 2-year contract. The trade went good after which a couple of months later we chose to swith to ATT. We named DirecTV and informed them-and questioned if required to deliver the DVR back. They stated yes, obviously, and also you owe us $390 for early termination. We described our contract finished many months before. They stated that by taking an upgraded DVR we'd decided to a brand new 2-year period. We disagreed obviously and after several lenghtly calls heading as much up the order string as you can we decided to differ. DirecTV charged our creditcard (AMEX) and we questioned the cost. American Express decided the cost was improper and acknowledged back our consideration. DirecTV subsequently rebilled exactly the same quantity and again we questioned and again AMEX arranged around. DirecTV has re-charged to get a third-time and again we're arguing. It is apparent that DirecTV may proceed to merely bill us. Does anybody possess a remedy for avoiding this cycle? There a large number of criticism websites on the internet dedicated to this exact same subject - DirecTV getting for early termination.in several of the instances the situation was the identical - an exchange to get a defective DVR after which DirecTV strikes them having a firing later once they swithch. It creates me wonder when the DirecTV is not achieving this purposely - evoking the DVRs to be traded. I can't suggest anybody using the services of DirecTV - their steps appear not just dishonest, but illegal aswell.
