Offered $100 Visa Card with prepaid hotel, non-cancellable reservation. Given $100.00 coupon instead

Traveling & Tourism

I called hotels.com to verify an award of a $100.00 visa card based on the amount and timing of a hotel purchase. I was assured I would qualify and receive the card. I purchased and paid for the reservation in full. It could not be cancelled. After I completed the trip, I called hotels.com to have the card sent. They refused to do so and substituted a coupon for future use at hotels.com in the amount of $100.00. The coupon could not be used with any other coupon or discounts. Obviously, the visa, if I had received it, could have been used on anything. If you do business with Hotels.com and there is an incentive, don't pay for anything until the incentive is received.
