The Tropicana Hotel
No hot wate

Actually the fact that the shower had no hot water is secondary to my real complaint, the title was more catchy is all.
My concern with the Tropicana Hotel (Las Vegas) is that they will not tell you a specific price for a specific room. I made a reservation through Kayak.com (never, never again, but that's another complaint) the first room I booked was for three people and the room was described as ;a king size bed and two queen sized beds, cable TV, internet hook up etc... The cost was $149.00 plus tax. Three weeks after I made this reservation I decided I wanted to stay an extra night so once again using Kayak I reserved a room costing $259.00 which I thought would be a vast improvement on the original due to the difference in price.
When my guest and I arrived at the hotel, I explained that the third guest was not with us and asked if we would have to move out of the cheaper room at check out time and into the more expensive room. The desk clerk said no that he could arrange it so we could just stay in a room that would even out the price I paid for both. Well, the room had 2 queen sized beds and a wide screen T. V but nothing that a Motel 6 couldn't match, as a matter of fact a Motel 6 provides coffee for free (whereas The Tropicana charges $14.00 for a half a pot) and for less than half the price.
Anyway, I wanted to find out what the rates where for the different rooms and I swear I could not get a straight answer to save my life! The Tropicana must have a special training program that teaches their employees the fine art of double talk.
So I guess I'll never know if I was over charged a hundred dollars cause they ain't talkin.
Needless to say I will not be staying at the Tropicana again nor will I use Kayak for reservations.
By the way there really was no hot water when I went to use the shower at 3 a. M but miraculously it was on at 10:00 when my guest went to take one.
