$100 dollar upgrade coupon with limited dates

I purchased a $100.00 upgrade coupon for a flight on Virgin America. When I purchased the coupon it had a specific date to use it by.

Once purchased, it then showed the voucher had a begin and end date to use the upgrade.
The upgrade was good starting today, September 5th. I flew yesterday (9-4)

I emailed them asked them for a refund and they politely refused! I will never use them again.

I'm sticking with Groupon for all my purchases from now on.
