We reserved a limo for a retirement party for 10 people, on a Thursday. I had offered to pay with a credit card but was told I would get a 5% discount if I paid in cash and that I should pay the driver when he arrived. We got a great rate, the driver was on time and the limo was clean but our experience could not have been much worse. The limo picked us up not far from the garage, when we got in it was hot inside, the soda and water bottles were warm and though I had requested ice, there was almost none and what there was, was in a solid chunk. I questioned the driver, he said he had just come from the garage and since it was so hot it was taking a while for the limo to cool off. I bought it, and called ahead to my friends we were picking up and asked them to grab some ice. When we picked up our guest of honor, our driver never opened the door for her until we asked; he just kind of stood there. He was given the addresses of where to go with the original booking but repeatedly asked where he was going. We now had our retiree, friends and work colleagues on board and although we were sweating profusely, we were beyond the commitment stage. The driver placated us by saying when it%u2019s so hot outside the limo a/c has a hard time keeping up. We were melting but headed up to observatory hill for photos. When we arrived the driver popped the hood, again not opening a door, and went to a nearby resident to get water to fill the radiator (I have a great picture of this). He called Tom and supposedly another limo was being sent to our rescue, but after waiting a very long time in the hot sun it was obvious there was no limo coming. We were now late for our dinner reservation, other guests, and the appetizers we had waiting. All we wanted was to get to the restaurant. The driver decided we needed to go get another limo, because he didn%u2019t think ours would make it. The kicker was it was about the same distance to the garage as it was to our restaurant. We got to the garage and we got into yet another steaming hot limo. On the five minute ride to restaurant, the second limo started to sputter and making strange noises, we didn%u2019t think we would make it. It had actually gone from bad to even worse. The driver pulled as far away from the restaurant door as possible, despite the events person holding a spot for us along with the other attendees who were waiting. We demanded to speak to Tom and the driver got him on the phone. Tom said we shouldn%u2019t take a limo full of people up a hill on a hot day and that he would give us $50 dollars back and hung up the phone on us. No, I am not lying.
The price was great but the service and the limos were horrible and even worse, my friend%u2019s special day was tarnished buy them. Beware folks%u2026you get what you pay for.
