Indian Head Canoes
False advertising for their resort cabin on their web site

On June 14 I researched white water rafting on the internet and found Indian Head Canoes which offered both the indoor and outdoor luxury for my family vacation. The resort cabin was ideal, it slept 8 adults and provided a kitchen service for 12, a deck overlooking the delaware river, but most of all it offered privacy away from other campers located on a bluff. On June 16 I called and left a deposit for the Resort Cabin.

I confirmed once again that it would be the Resort Cabin and the cabin is definately located away from everyone, the woman explained it was located about 50 feet away on a bluff. I then called again on Friday July 25 and re-confirmed all the information so that there would not be a problem seeing that the trip would take about 3 hours.

When I arrived at Indian Head on July 27, they showed me a cabin that was located near the office and said that was the cabin I booked. I explained that for $200.00 per night that cabin was not what I booked, it could not even sleep my family without falling over each other and the cabin was located right next to the reservation and shop office. I asked for my deposit back and the owner stated to cut my loses and move on. He was very rude and could not comprehend that I did not cancell my reservation, however I arrived on the due date and they did not honor my reservation because they tried to rent me a much smaller cabin for the same price ($200.00 per night).

I would of never know that there was a Resort Cabin located on the bluff had I not taken a rafting trip at Cedar Rapid which passed Indian Head Canoes and saw the cabin that was pictured on the internet. When I went back and told them that the cabin that I had seen on the internet was not the cabin they tried to rent me they stated that the Cabin that I saw on the bluff was actually the Owner's home.

I consider this false and deceitful advertising and I want my deposit back and to let everyone know that in speaking with other campers and owners in that area they stated that Indian Head is a Rip off with very dissatified customer as I am also.
