I purchased flights through Orbitz for travel during the holidays of Dec.'11. Orbitz booked me flights on two different airlines for my departure and return trips. The two airlines were not associated with one another. My return flight was cancelled the night before departure, so I contacted Orbitz for help with rebooking. The customer service rep was incompetent and could not book me a new flight, despite having just done so for my travelling partner, who was booked on the same original return flight. The customer service rep told me to contact the airlines directly (why am I using Orbitz then?). Both airlines refused responsibility for my flight and after 5.5 hours on the phone I still had no return flight. I booked myself on the last remaining seat on the flight Orbitz had booked my travelling partner on. Upon my return home I contacted Orbitz about reimbursing me for the flight. To this day they will not even communicate with me over the matter. Terrible customer service, terrible company who won't help you if something goes awry. Not worth using.
