Disgusting Rooms, Total Rip-off

On a trip home from Florida we decided to stay over in North Carolina after a long day of driving. It was sometime after midnight and the family and I got 2 rooms as there were 5 of us. We were not looking for luxury at 42.99 a night but I expected at least clean. We stopped that night to get cleaned up with a shower and to sleep a few hours. I walk into the bathroom and the first thing I notice is the lack of towels, a hand towel and washcloth is what he had. And shower items. No Shampoo, 1 bar of soap. I push back the curtain to find that the tub is covered in a brown filth and that mildew is covering the bottom of the shower curtain. Not a little mildew, a good 8 inches up the curtain.

I took a shower but with shower shoes and not touching the sides. I take the towel off the rack after I am finshed and discover a huge stain covering the towel. It looked like a urine stain to me. I was really grossed out. I come out of the bathroom to find my cousin pointing at the wall, I look and see that there is a splatter of dark red covering the wallpaper and ceiling behind the door. It looked like blood to me and the wallpaper had been wiped down so it wasn't as noticable.

At that point I was so angry that I was just going to go to bed and pretend this wasn't a shithole. UNTIL I removed my blanket to find a huge blood stain on the boxspring, Cigerette Burns in my sheets and pubic hair located above the bed in the picture frame. Also a collection of dirty tissues and "pills" were next to the nightstand. At this point I was going to complain. I go next door to get my cousin to go with me to switch rooms and find that her room is equally as bad. I said screw it by 1am.

The night clerk was not going to be able to help me and he had trouble understanding us when we checked in. The next morning after sleeping in due to the lack of alarm clock I went down to see a manager, who was unavailable. I have pictures to document this all and feel that these rooms are a severe health and safety issue. I should have had to compromise my health and still pay 42.99 a night. Cleaniness is something every hotel should be able to afford.
