Nameless bidding includes hotels with Unreasonable 'Additional Fees'

Traveling & Tourism

Priceline has resorts that overcharge!

I booked a 3.5 star resort for a 2-day stay as part of NameYourPrice, and got a OMNI RESORT at Orlando that charges $20/ a day as 'resort fee' and $14/day for parking.

When I requested PRICELINE to change my booking, saying the extra fee is ridiculous, given that I was paying $80/night to stay, they wouldnt. The CustomerCare associate (Ken with employee id 5260234) wouldnt transfer me to a supervisor, and said he would if he could just 'in order to get away from this call'. All this, when I was being very polite and courteous with them. He admitted that 'he would be upset if he were in my shoes too'.

With this deal, over a 2-night stay, I am expected to pay as additional $70 as 'additional fees', when my request was for a 3 star hotel. This is more than 50% of my per-day charge.

In a nameless bidding, Priceline should not include resorts that have such exhorbitant fees. How can you justify asking users to bid blindly, on faith, and accept a resort that takes over 50% as 'additional fee'? Your own CustomerCare said they would have been upset if they were in my situation too.

Priceline should have hotels and resorts that have reasonable 'additional fees'. When we bid, we go on faith. Unfortunately, with this experience, I feel my expectations were not met.

The resort has a package for 2-nights with free breakfast for kids, at $92/night. With the faith-based bidding, I am having to shell down $115/day tax; when my initial expectation was led to be $80/night tax.

Considering this, I would request that $70 be credited back to my account.
