Suzann & Randy Herdman
Terminated us after 3 weeks of hard running, told us they were taking truck off the road, LIARS!

Traveling & Tourism

My husband and myself went to work for the Herdmans on July 11th after many weeks of talking on the phone with them about the job details, pay rate, hometime, ect... We were still working with a company where my husband started his career in driving and he had not reached his "6 month" mark yet, he needed 6 months exp to drive for the Herdmans before the company they are leased to would hire us on, and they were fully aware that I myself was scheduled for minor surgery on August 18th and we wanted to wait till after my surgery to change companys because I had great insurance.

On about June 28th Randy called to give us some "great news" he said he played golf over the weekend with the CEO of the company they are leased too, And he told the CEO about us and explained to him I have 7 yrs OTR experiance and my husband is just shy of 6 months, the CEO said he would OK us to come on board ASAP, when we told the Herdmans we didnt want to make that move that fast cause of my surgery and insurance they told us "your insurance will remain in effect for 30 days of leaving your present company"

On July 11th we was in Ohio for Orientation with "said company" and was put up in a hotel by the Herdmans, we had to pay our own gas from TN to OH and back which was no big deal, when orientation was over we went back to TN to meet the Herdmans to pick up our truck they were bringing to us in Marshall Co. TN (we also signed our contract with the Herdmans at this time) (the last driver dumped it in TX was the story we got from the Herdmans) they said the truck was dirty and they would have it detailed before we got it, that never happened... It took me all day to scrub the inside just so we could move in, the outside was just as nasty, the smell of "dirty fat truck driver" never left this truck even after 4 cans of febreeze!!!

Ok so now 3 weeks have passed with no pay (they dont pay until your 4th week out) so our truck has run almost 17000 miles (thats GREAT miles for expediting) in 3 weeks our first check would be a smaller check since we only had 1 trip in for that pay period, we got that check... On August 10th the Herdmans informed us they were pulling the truck off the road and giving up the lease cause "the truck was costing them more to run it than they were making" and told us to return the truck to the OH yard, we did everything they asked and was not crappy about it, Suzann had turned pretty rude by this point and Randy wasnt man enough to talk to us...

A few days prior to all of this we unloaded in Archbold, OH on 8/10 we was offered a load to California that delivered on 8/14 when we pointed out we have hometime set for 8/16 due to pre-op on 17th surgery on 18th dispatch said "then that california load wont work cause we dont know if we can get you back that fast" Suzann called a short while later and was raising h*ll with us for NOT taking the California load we told her we have hometime that cant be missed she was not happy that I picked my health over her pocketbook! A few minutes later we accepted a short load to help dispatch out, thats when Suzann lost it, she called raising h*ll again demanding we take her truck back to the yard! Ok no problem... So now the Herdmans owe us appox 8 thousand dollars...

We turned in the truck to the yard on 8/12, the shop de-lettered the logo off the truck and pulled the qualcomm out, so we had no reason to not believe that the truck was being pulled from the fleet. I made sure to clean the truck really good and mop the floors, wash windows, febreeze it ect. I took pictures of the inside and out so I had proof it was clean and no damage We even have a witness to back us:) we started to work on The following Monday with a new owner, at the same company...

When friday rolled around (payday from Herdmans) our checks were cut short and we didnt get a settlement sheet we was not paid back for tolls, stamps, envelopes, and keys that were cut for the truck. Next friday, same thing checks cut short, no settlement sheet, no reimbersments ect... The following friday... Same thing! Suzann was still taking the deductable for the truck out of our checks and we wasnt even driving HER truck anymore... What a scam! So now we are down to that last, getting our deductable and reimbursments and our shortage in pay, now they wont answer our calls, emails, text ect... So we have no choice but to drag them to court! And before anyone says anything... Yes I have proof of everything I have just typed and what makes it even sweetier is... The other post/reports before mine! So we are not the only ones who was scammed by the Herdmans!

My suggestion to Suzann & Randy... If your going to steal peoples money... Atleast use some of it for some teeth!
