American burned our surfboards - Baggage Handling

American left our surfboard bag on the MIA tarmac and it got burned from the plane engines. When we finally received in Nicaragua with AA tape around it, imagine our surprise to see both surfboards burned and all the contents of the bag. The AA agent in Managua authorized a payment in Miami and we had to bring the bag back to MIA where this happened. The rude baggage people took and kept the bag and now say they won't honor the authorized reimbursement! So twin sons on a surf trip in Nicaragua spent the time without their boards and now cant get AA to reiburse them for the burned boards of which they are in possession! Taushw
