Trick and trap customers who's English is not their first language with fast sales talks. Deceptive ripoff company

Traveling & Tourism

When we received a call an operator with American accent, i don't remember the exact words, he sure made us felt like we won a vacation of a life time. He said the whole trip is worth $4000!! Well, We were aware from his fast talking explanation that we need to pay $900 to secure this 12nights package that includes a cruise.

Well, from Singapore all the way to Florida, spending 12 nights with cruise for two, we thought it's a great deal so we "secured" the prize and gave our credit card details.

After we hung up on the phone, we searched the net for their company and realized the package doesn't include any air nor ground transportation fee. We will still have to pay on our own, two round-trip tickets. One from our home to Orlando, Florida, and back; and one from Orlando, Florida, to Mexico and back.

We also have to pay $269 per person for the cruise. Some of the information were revealed on the phone but the operator talked very fast and I'm sure he ignored some of our questions or talked in deceptive ways which makes us feel we had been tricked and that his interest was not on customer satisfaction but to record the credit card details asap.

Anyway, this means, the $900 they charged us is only for a stay in hotel for 9 days in Florida. When we asked for cancellation or refund, they said it is agreed in the tape recorded verification that it is sold on a non-refundable basis. When we received a receipt despite our quick request, we realized that they charged us in US dollars, not in Singapore dollars as we verified on the phone so it came up to S$1600.

I tried to print out their receipts and replys from the computer but somehow it was blocked...
I have nothing more to say but to warn everyone to be aware of pitfalls and smooth talking sales people if you are willing to take the "too-good-to-be-true" seriously. Otherwise, just hung up.
