Free cruise asking for a credit card? Ripoff Fort Lauderdale Florida

I never answer unknown numbers. I received a phone survey from United Republic? I decided to answer it for sh*s and giggles.

They said I won a free cruise with Imperial Majesty Cruise Line, for answering the survey. An agent would call me in a few days. More than a few days later, i was called from a 1.800.475.0315. I called them back from a line (1.800.441.6858) that directed me to an "agent". It also sounded good, though not "too good to be true". I'm well-traveled and have been in better places than a cruise.

I have not had to deal with recordings. I called back twice to ask questions, and both times an "agent" spoke with me. The deal is: I buy my own transportation to Ft. Lauderdale where the ship will take off, to Nassau, Bahamas. They gave me the cruise details and said I would need a credit card to activate the trip? My red flags went up, of course. They would charge my credit card $59 for government port tax/person. I thought that would be charged during the cruise, though.

Does this story sound familiar to anyone else? They weren't pushy about the credit card, they said I had 18 months to use it, and suggested a conference call with me and the guest I would be taking. I could call them when I was ready to make plans. I also contacted Imperial Majesty. They said this:

"We work with many different travel companies that provide vacations that include our cruise as part of their package. We recommend that you contact the company that offered you your package for further information about the vacation and what they have to offer."

Vague, not helpful. I haven't finalized anything or given numbers. You gotta google everything these days. I wasn't exactly given a dream package like some of you on this forum, nor was I asked to sit through a time share talk.
