Travelocity
Charges for rebooked flights due to weathe

Traveling & Tourism

I booked a 4 day trip to Las Vegas from Cleveland for my honeymoon. The flight to Las Vegas was cancelled due to weather and rescheduled for the next day. Continental was great in getting us on the first flight out the next morning and even upgraded us to first class and gave us a voucher for the Marriot Inn in Cleveland!

I called Travelocity and told them we would need another night in Vegas and they said it was fine due to the weather and we would not be charged a re-booking or cancellation fee.

Two days later, I got a call from Travelocity asking for my permission to charge me $350 for my "rebooking" penalty! I told them that I was informed that there would be no re booking penalty due to the circumstances (weather). He said it didn't matter and needed me to authorize the charge. I said "NO" and hung up.

I got home and found a $1,022 charge on my card! When I called, they said it was $350 for the re-booking fee, $199 for the extra night at the hotel (even though I didn't use the first night), and $523 for the two nights at the Marriot Inn in Cleveland! I told him I only stayed one night and that Continental paid for that. He took that charge away reluctantly, but said I would have to contact TI for the $199 refund for the unused night, and the $350 re booking fee was their policy regardless of weather! I disputed the charge and only ended up paying $100 which made up for the fact that my extra night was on a weekend as opposed to a weekday, which made sense. Never again!
