I priced two airfare tickets from Spokane, WA to Reno, NV today and yesterday on CheapFares.com.
When I got the price quote it sounded good so I decided to follow it up. The first quote was $351.00.By the time I finished and got ready to book the flight the price was $454.00!!
Today I decided to try again. This time the price came up $288.00 plus fees and taxes. Again I was esctatic and decided to proceed. This time the price came back $429.00!! Including $144.00 in booking fees!
The same amount as it costs for one of the tickets. Even worse the flight home ended up getting me in at 11:00 PM. At least this time there was a breakdown of the charge and I could at least see what I was getting charged for!
Still I can't believe the airlines have had to resort to this type of thing to make ends meet and make a profit. Why don't they just raise the price of the tickets and not use subterfuge? At least it would be honest!!
