False Representations of Accomodations and Charges

Traveling & Tourism

We were booked to take a vacation/time share tour in Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale, and 4 days in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. - The Orlando time share tour was assigned (Sunday, 8:00 AM - no change allowed, ruining our Sunday plans). The reservation included a $15.00 as day charge for maid service: we weren't told about this! The room tax was also unexpected and excessive. Towels were to be picked up after 4:00PM at which time not all sizes were available if an evening pickup was needed.

The "continental breakfast" was very minimal, to say the least, and if you arrived 1/2 hour before closing, coffee was not always available, and the tables were not always cleaned off. There was no DVD player: movies were available for $10.00! The 90 minute time share tour was more than 3 hours. The time share representative said they were redoing the entire hotel shortly, and the staff at the hotel said they had nothing to do with the time share people. (Who was telling the truth?) The hotel needed a general repair, painting, etc. The pool area had broken tables and chairs. This was supposed to be deluxe accommodations!

-When we arrived at Ft. Lauderdale welcome center, we were then sent to Weston (very poor directions) and we arrived in the evening. After going for a breakfast we went to the welcome center for our tour. While, in both cases the personnel were fine, the 90 minute tour wasn't over till 4:00 PM! At this time they offered us a doable time share but we wee too tired to even pursue this. We had about an hour at the poolside before dark. - Very early the next morning we took the cruise ship to the Freeport.

This was OK. But when we arrived at our so-called deluxe accommodations (Royal Palm Resort, which we were told was lovely and in the maind area) we found a very basic room with no refrigerator (we had to fill the ice bucket to keep butter/cheese and milk cold), there was a coffee pot that we had to plug into the bathroom plug, there was no coffee served and we had to shop for some minimal breakfast food) the room was small and depressing, in great need of paint and replacement of knobs on the doors. The facility was not near anything, and, unless your were able to walk several long blocks for a restaurant of grocery store, you needed to take a costly taxi. The beach, casino, shopping, and hotel areas were all accessable only by taxi. - We were very aggravated throughout our vacation!

The whole "deal" was wreaking of false representation.in the end, the vacation cost us at least $1,000 dolars. We could have done better on our own! I would never recommend these companies (which are related since they have the same address) to anybody. (They have no email address.)
