Imperial Majesty, Is it a relaxing getaway or over 10 hours of agervation on the phone without a refund

The Package:

My girlfriend received a package deal from Imperial Majesty it seemed like a nice deal. The package included a trip to Fort Laurderdale, Florida a cruise to the bahamas, and to Orlando, Florida. The trip is a total of seven days. After the numbers were added up, the total was about $1000. $798 for the package, $198 for the port fee, and the free complementary upgrade to an outside cabin which cost $99. My girlfriend called to setup the package. I personally paid for this with American Express over the telephone and I'm glad I used AMEX.

The Problems:

Let me explain why the free complementary outside upgrade cabin cost $99. When we received the package in the mail inside were 2 similar letters that said we have a free complimentary upgrade to an outside cabin. Everything on the letter was identical except the dates were 2 days apart. My girlfriend called them and after spending about 5 hours on the phone, we were asked to fax the 2 letters over. At this point I called American Express to give them a heads up that I may have a possible problem with this company. I faxed the letters a week later and called them the next day. They received the fax and they said an immediate refund of the $99 will be processed.

A month later I was summoned for court duty which conflicted with my trip. I called them and asked if they can send a simple letter with my name on it and the starting and ending dates of the trip. They said one has been sent the previous day. I asked them if it had both our names on it and he read my girlfriends name and my name back to me and said they were both on the letter. When I received the letter, it only had my girlfriends name. I called them back and asked if they can fax another letter with my name on it. They said I will receive it in 24 hours. I waited patiently for 3 days and still no fax. I called them and asked if they can E-mail it instead, they said they can only fax it and they also told me the cruise is canceled.

I'm glad I called. Suppose I went to Florida and then found out the cruise was canceled. Once I had to call to find out my cruise was canceled it seems like there is always an excuse and at this point I was tired of playing games. I also found out that my $99 was never refunded. How do I know if the cruise ship even exists. The only option I had left was to cancel the trip and refund the package. I had no problem canceling the cruise but as soon as I ask for a refund, sorry no refunds.instead they gave me 2 options, sell the package or reschedule the cruise. I'm not their sales rep and I couldn't in good honesty consider selling a useless package to someone. I explained to them very nicely that I would like a refund, you can not provide the service we were promised, you can't fax a document with my name on it, I did not receive any documents with my name on it. I didn't even receive a receipt and by law all purchases must have a receipt.

The Solution:

I called American Express, I told them that Imperial Majesty can not provide the service they promised me, my name is not on any documentation, I have no receipt and I asked them for a refund and they would not refund me. American Express refunded all charges from Imperial Majesty and Ramada Plaza. I also asked them to block any future charges from Imperial Majesty because I do not trust them with my information and I will never do business with them again.

The best advice I can give is stay away from Imperial Majesty and Ramada Plaza (Their the same company) and if your not sure about how a certain company works, Pay with American Express. If you do not have an American Express card, apply for a Blue American Express card. Purchase with caution.
