Stay away

I heard by the sales staff this hotel was a 5 star resort, what I got was more than I bargained for. I've stayed at better motels 6's than this. I found rat droppings, roaches, ants, very run down carpet and furniture that could have been picked up from someone’s front yard! When asked to be moved to another room or cancel my stay, front desk said that they would have to charge me 100.00 for a short stay? I then asked to be moved to another room they called me back a day later with a smaller room. Needless to say I would never be an owner. People in the pool area were talking about how unhappy they were with Gran Monarch. Whatever you do, do your homework, visit the resort and talk to people who are owners before committing yourself to a vacation from "*"!
