Traveling & Tourism

Bought a non-refundable ticket for $400 for my son. He had to cancel his trip for school obligations, so the ticket gets "put on hold" for one year. When I went to re-book the flight I found a cheaper flight $307 knowing I had to pay the $100 change fee. So when I called they said I had to pay another $100. I told them they had $400 the only thing I should have to pay is the $7; take the $100 from the money you have. "Didn't you read the rules?" the woman said. After finally getting an English speaking person I could understand (no offense but she couldn't understand me either) in Reno she said "you have to go to our web site Google the residualticket value and there it say's we keep the difference in ticket price".

So when you hit the button to purchase your agreeing to rules that are buried somewhere in a Google search. I get an e-mail the other day from some clerk, the content of which is some standard language, she acknowledges you have to search Google to find all the rules and she admits to not having read my complaint. Why bother to tell me this???

Needless to say, I know the air lines are struggling but US AIR has lost my business and can go bankrupt for all I care I'll stick with another airline that is up front about their rules.
