American Airlines
Expensive underwater camera stolen by baggage handlers at O'Hare Int'l Airport

Traveling & Tourism

While traveling to Miami, FL on Feb 8 on American Airlines out of Chicago O'Hare. After going through security and check-in, after arriving at our hotel in Miami we discovered our brand new in-the-box underwater camera was no longer in the box. They were kind enough to leave the empty box however. The thieves also lifted a spare battery to another camera thinking they were getting the battery to the underwater camera. So this rip-off was in excess of $450.00, I reported the theft to American Airlines at 800-433-7300 and got a response of "the items you are claiming, unfortunately, American Airlines is not liable for them, we will not be able to reimburse you for them".
