Ramada Plaza Resorts
Very Misleading story about below average accomodations and cruise Ripoff

Traveling & Tourism

My wife and I received the coupon as shown in these reports last August and we signed up for the $698 now and $698 final payment. Some Ramada employees have said it was only $698- this is not true. We also received the side trips and we exercised two and are glad we did. I will explain.

We arrived at the Ramada in Ft. Lauderdale and it is very old - our room did not have a KIng size bed as promised and it was worn and thread bare-It had a restaurant and the food was good thank goodness as it is situated in an industrial area of Ft. Lauderdale. We too had not been told about the $12 fee we had to pay. THe cruise on The Imperial Majesty was ok but it was a rough trip and my wife was sick the entire crossing to Nassau. The drinks were expensive and you were prevented from bringing any booze on board and had to buy theirs / The food was ok but the first night it was so rough even the waiters got sick - I was one of the few in the dining room. We made the best of it and met some nice people and the crew were friendly. And helpful.

It was then on to a Ramada in Orlando - I am handicapped and our room on the 4th floor was about as far away from the elevators as you could be. It was a long trek and our room once again was dilapitated - their wireless internet did not work on the 4th floor and the hotel would not change our room even though they were not full. We left two days early.

Oh yes at Orlando I filed a complaint about our room in Ft. Lauderdale and they sent a $200 refund. (I did not ask for a specific amount). Since we drove our own car they also paid us $100 USD for the gas slips I submitted.
The Bonus vacations in Palm Springs at the Lawrence Welk Resort and at the Excalibur in Los Vegas made up for the bad taste of the Ramada stays. Since these hotels had nothing to do with Ramada they were very very nice. WE even extended our stay at both places by a few days.
In short, Ramada mispresents this package-it is a time share driven deal and I am certain that their mode of operation is to put participants in hotels and rooms where you would not stay if you knew what they were like. The ship that they use is on its last legs and I would not trust it in a serious storm.
So that is the truth as I see it.
