Ramada Plaza Resorts
We got our rebate back in 10 days and YOU could too! Ripoff Fort Lauderdale

Education & Science

We sent a letter to Ramada Plaza Resorts on 6/8/07 and received a full refund to our credit card on 6/18/07. We were about to take our trip, then looked at where we would be going. We found out that at hotels.com the rooms were only $40 and the cruise was a joke as it is a cheap cruise on one of the oldest cruise ships in the Florida/Carribean area.

So we called Ramada and asked for a refund and they stated that they could not give one due to our contract with Ramada Plaza Resorts. We did not accept this as an answer and sent a letter to Dan Lambert, VP of the company. With this letter we received a full refund in 10 days, without any hassle aside from writing the letter.

Ramada Plaza Resorts has taken advantage of many people. We wanted to share that we got our money back and wanted to let you know a few facts that might help you get your money back as well.

Here are some examples from the letter we sent:

Dear Mr. Lambert,

The purpose of this letter is to explain how misleading the sales representatives of Ramada Plaza Resorts are and to receive a full refund of my $698 that was paid on 01/11/06. Ramada Plaza Resorts fraudulent misrepresentation of the vacation package that I purchased on January 11 is reprehensible. I am requesting a full refund of the $698 that I paid for the vacation package. Ramada Plaza Resorts fraudulent and deceitful description of the vacation package violates Floridas Sellers of Travel Act of 2004 and is a violation of Floridas Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

We continued the letter with Ramada Plaza Resorts' issues that we researched on-line and explained to them how very dissatisfied we were with Dan Lambert's company.

Another excerpt is:

I am overjoyed that I did not use this one time deal. I would have been devastated by the promises that were made to me by Ramada Plaza Resorts. Ramada Plaza Resort is deceptive and misleading because the actual retail value of the vacation is significantly less then $3000. At www.hotels.com found the Ramada Plaza Orlando Resort is only $39/night and the Ramada Plaza Fort Lauderdale is only $49/night. The two night cruise to Nassau, Bahamas is only $636 for two/both nights for the best room; which I more than likely would not receive. My husband and I would probably be put in the lowest room for the lowest price of $436 for two/both nights. That is grand total of $661 for the same vacation that Ramada promised was worth almost $3000. How can Ramada claim their vacation is worth over $2000 more than if I made the exact same travel plans myself?

The vacation that was promised to me does have meals included but my husband and I would not spend over the $2000 difference on food. My husband and I could take this same trip for almost half the price paid without the cost of food. It is absurd to think that Ramada Plaza Resort would make a person pay almost twice as much for the same vacation they can book themselves online.

We wish you luck with getting your refund back! We got our refund back and are very pleased. We certainly learned a lesson, that nothing is "a great deal" if you have to pay half right away and can not think about it. Feel free to respond to this if you have any questions or think we could be anymore help.
