On Sunday March 11th my girlfriend and I went on a cruise with you (Carnival Cruise Lines) onboard the M. S Sensation for a guaranteed fun and unforgettable vacation; however this was not the case.

On the second night of our cruise during dinner at the Fantasia Dining Room Ericka ordered an appetizer made with Prosciutto (Italian Ham) and melon, and as soon as she took a bite she noticed it tasted funny and effectively when I smelled its smell was foul. We returned the dish and told our waiter, who agreed with us.

That night we finished dinner and went to the show at 10:30 and by the time we got back to our cabin my girlfriend started vomiting.

The next morning she was feeling nauseous still even though we were in Freeport, Bahamas and the ship was not moving. That day she vomited after eating breakfast, lunch, and several times during the night. We stopped by the infirmary but they only gave us some pills for nausea and vomiting, and denied that she had something grave because of her good appearance.

The next day the symptoms got worse, she kept vomiting throughout the day, but now had chronic diarrhea, strong headache, and high fever. We went to the infirmary again and all they gave her was a shot for nausea, which helped the symptoms become a bit milder.

When we got back to the United States, we had to spend money and time to see a doctor and she was diagnosed with Gastroenteritis which was caused by bacteria in the food or water. She was prescribed antibiotics for 10 days and the symptoms continued until about 4 days after we arrived.

She was told to be isolated in the cabin and was not offered any special nor comforting food other than the mediocre food selection from room service, so she basically had to eat bagels until we got off the ship.

Furthermore our cabin was in terrible conditions the carpet had an awful odor, the shower had mold, the furniture had very noticeable scratches and splinters sticking out, one of the closet doors was missing a hinge and to make it worse there was a metal column in the middle of the room that we were NOT told about when we purchased the tickets nor when we were assigned to the cabin which was M149.
