Attempted Ripoff, Rude and High Pressure Tactics

I work for the Federal Government. I noticed a fax on our GOVERNMENT fax machine. It was for a special of a 6 day all-inlcusive oceanfront Mexican Vacation for $99.00 per couple. There was not company information - just an 800 number. (1-800-353-0742). I was interested - so I called them. (Thinking - surely this is legite as what idiot would send a scam to a FEDERAL office?)

I call and get a Cliff & on the phone. His extension is apparently X-1011. He told me that this vacation had not black out dates, was valid for 1 year, etc. As I questioned him... He kept putting me on hold to speak to his "supervisor". I wanted to know if extra days were available with the special.

While I was on hold... I did some searches for MX Resorts on line... I found this site... — , so I immediatley knew there was NO WAY I was doing business with them.

Suddenly a snakey smooth talking "supervisor" named Dave — got on the line. He "ran some numbers" to get me a price and wanted to make me a special deal for $2,016.67 for 4 people for 10 days. I told him I'd have to speak to my husband before I committed to spending that much money.

He immediately starting high pressure to get me to buy now, that there were 3 deals in there finance department (what the heck does that have to do with anything?). He kept pressuring that this wouldn't be available, yada yada yada. I stood firm on speaking with my husband and he then abruptly says - "well - I'll tell you what honey - you call back later and pay retail for it." He then just hung up on me.

I should also note that Mr. - stated that they are located in Mexico - however - they are located in Orlando, Florida and not one accent between he and Mr. - .

So - I'd say this place has SCAM written all over it. I'm gonna turn this over to our security department and see what happens from there.
