Deceptive Practices Beware

I received a letter in the mail like so many others stating that I was selected to join this Cambridge Who's Who. I decided to register online for it and was contacted a few days later, early in the morning on a Saturday. I spoke to a Steve, who gave me a run down of the benefits of this membership and how it could help advertise my internet business and help me get know, yada, yada, yada. This conversation was going on all the while I was feeding my toddler and cleaning the house. They he came down to paying for it which I was shocked as the letter stated that being listed was free. It was not indeed free and that in order to get access to some of the information I would have to join with some membership costing $800 and that it would include a vacation trip that he could throw in. I said no, that it was too much and he started going lower and lower. Finally he came down to $299 and kept pressuring me and pressuring me. I said I had to talk to my husband and he wouldn't let me get off the phone. So being a decent person, I was suckered into paying some $318 and was told that I'd be getting some membership stuff 14 days later. Turns out that after getting sometime to do some research I find all this stuff on how deceptive their practices are and how they falsely advertise this so called free listing. I called my credit card company to file a dispute. Now 2 months later, I get a letter stating that the charge is reinstated since the company will not allow reversal. I have filed complaints with the FTC and BBB to get my money back as they state that they are not affiliated with other Who's Who but indeed are, Empire and Manchesters. They falsely advertise also in their letter and have high pressure tactics to sell this product.
