Ripoff This company debited our credit card in excess of the available funds which was not agreed upon and left us in debt

I was contacted by that company and they told me i had won a competition and asked if i had a credit card. I don't have one i replied and asked if maybe my wife had one. I told them my wife would be in later that evening.

They then called my wife telling her we have won a holiday of a lifetime on the net but needed a small nominal fee to secure the package. The saleman told my wife she had to buy over the phone as it was a once off offer. My wife fell for the sales pitch and told them that she only had R3500 available on her credit card and they can take that figure only. Once she gave them the credit number they managed to withdraw R6804.54. This put her into great debt as R4000 was taken off my wifes account at the end of the month by the bank in order to pay for the credit card. This has left us in debt once again

I then watched tv and saw a program about the 419 scam. Everything looked very similar. Next i checked the internet and found the rip off report and couldn't believe we have been robbed. We have contacted the credit card division and they will not help. Please help us and advice us on how to get our money back as we are desperate. Is their no police agency who can lock these criminals away in your'lls country?
