Disgustingly dirty hotel and refused to give back money after only 1:45 minutes

I was fortunate to have my mother and mother inn watch my 2 children so I and my wife could have a night out. My back had been killing me, so I wanted to go to a hotel that had a hot tub. I chose the Commack Motor Inn and we proceeded to go there.

After gettting there and unpacking, we found that the hot tub was dirty. The water also was not coming out hot. I made the mistake of filling up the tub with the drain open and lost the little hot water that was there.

I went up to the front desk and they said they would give me my money back. I asked them if they could get someone to clean it because I really wanted the hot tub and it was 10PM. They said yes and we waited for about 15 minutes. I went up to the front desk and they said that they were on the way.

After another 10 minutes 3 girls appeared. Two of them watched one of them clean the tub. The room was supposed to be smoke free but had clean ashtrays in it. When the girls were cleaning the tub they left the door open and the smoke came into the room from the hall. The hot tub was finally clean after about another 15 minutes. I filled the tub and the water was hot so that was nice.

My wife and I got into the tub and after about 10 minutes we saw a brown ring of dirt on the top of the water and it even left a ring on the tub. My wife and I felt dirty so we had to take showers. I called the front desk and I told them what happened and they said they would take $50 off the bill.

The room was $179 so that made it $129. They charge $109 for a regular room but they would not give me $109 charge that I had wanted. My wife sometimes has a hard time breathing when there is dirt or smoke around and after another 15 after she had trouble breathing. We packed up and left the room and went to the front at 11:45pm which was 1:45 after we checked in.

I asked for my money back and they said no. The guy behind the counter was talking to the owner, who refused to get on the phone with me, and he said the best he could do was refund me 50% of the room or $89 dollars.

He was going to charge me $129 anyway and 50% of that would be $65 dollars but he would only give me $89. We were in the room for a total of 1:45 minutes which consisted of getting undressed, unpacked, filling up the tub twice, showering once, watching the cleaning leady clean the tub, getting dressed, pack and leave.

I feel that I have been unjustly charged and want everyone to know about the Commack Motor inn. If you are in the area and want a hotel or motel don't go there. They are unprofessional and don't care about customer service.
