Harbor Bay Motel
Threatened bodily harm, rude, inappropriate RIPOFF

My girlfriend and I rented a room at the Harbor Bay Motel on March 5. We were kept up most the night by a thumping noise coming from upstairs. I called the front desk around 4AM to ask what the noise was. The front desk clerk promptly hung up on me.

Shocked and confused I called the front desk again, and was greeted with a man yelling "Leave me alone!" My girlfriend and I were very irritated at this point. My girlfriend called again to ask the man's name so we could voice a complaint the next day. He told her to "fu* off".

We decided to get dressed and get the man's name before he got off work in the morning. He saw us approaching and locked the door. He then started to yell and tell us that we were trespassing and to leave the property immediately. At this point I had a voice recorder and told the man he was being taped. On the tape the man clearly threatens my girlfriend and myself with bodily harm.

We realized that we were dealing with a lunatic at this point and returned to our room. The police arrived to question us about ten minutes later. Apparently satisfied that we were not trespassing they did not arrest us. I didn't even think of pressing charges against the desk clerk. Is it too late?

After leaving at 6AM, we called later in the day to speak with the owner or a manager and not one person would even give us their name. I looked up the owner's name and asked for him personally for about three days with no response. I finally got ahold of him, and his reaction was the same as his employees'. He hung up on me.
