Confirmation on Ticket - AIRLINE TICKETS

I bought a ticket from Dar es Salaam to New York through Doha and i have an overnight layover in Doha. My girl friend bought the return ticket to Dar and was wondering if United have a policy where by if the name on the ticket and that of the credit card are different and there is no proof of us knowing each other they would make a fuss. I need to know asap if i need the same documents in Doha prior to me boarding and leaving for the states.
