Greyhound Bus
Abandoned baggage - Greyhound Bus Co. Alberta, Canada

Traveling & Tourism

I caught a 7am - 10.30am bus from Edmonton AB to Calgary AB on Jan 31st. The bus broke down in Red Deer on the side of the highway. Waited approx. 90 mins for a replacement bus to arrive.

Driver was unable to retrieve stowed baggage due to electrical fault so it was abandoned. Bus arrived in Edmonton around 2.15pm - up to 4 hours after ETA.

Filed missing baggage report - customer service staff were unsympathetic and rude. When asked when our baggage would be returned they replied "I don't know."

Hadn't heard anything so returned the next day in-person - at my own expense, for update. Advised that the bus was "still on the side of the highway."

Our completed lost baggage forms that included personal information were left on desk unattended. Had the misfortune of seeing the same customer service rep who said "I can't help you.' Managed to speak to another member of staff who sympathized but advised that they were trying to retrieve baggage but had no ETA.

I had flown in from the UK on the 30th so having no baggage has ruined my trip.

Take my advice - if you are travelling between Calg and Edm pay the extra and use Red Arrow.
