We visited The Palace Resorts in Cancun, Mexico. The "Welcome" tour and "Welcome" party are actually high-pressure sales pitches. They kept bringing more and more salesmen to our table, It was extremely uncomfortable! After 3 hours (losing our valuable beach time) we succumed and signed up.
As it turns out, we paid $12,500 for a membership that gets us a discount of about $80.00 a week on our future stays. I won't even live long enough to recoup that! The reservations agents are horrible to deal with, and are great at playing dumb about rates and availablity. I wish I could get my money back!
