Not Your typical HIE

When I drove up to see about making reservations for a reunion of about 150 people, I was anxious to show off Grand Prairie. HIE typically has a very good product around the world. Well, when I walked in, I was amazed at how strange the place looked. Dark, kind of musty, and tables at the entrance (I assume for eating), and an unlit registration desk with hand written notes all around. When I asked about reserving rooms, I was told that I would have to speak to the manager. He was not in. I asked the desk clerk what breaks she thought other companies got when they had a larger reservation. She just looked at me. It then dawned on me that her English was far was not adequate to help me.
We did not consider the only hotel in South Grand Prairie.
