Notorious for Delays and Poor Quality in the last few years incidents of violence. Numerous owners have reported taking their beloved boats to this yard and being unable to get them out for months. And then they were badly damaged. The yard itself is in a poor condition of maintenance that borders on unsafe. The quality of the work is poor. There used to be a 20 page discussion of this on Sailnet, but it seems to have disappeared. Check out the reviews on Yelp and Yahoo. Dont be misled by the Do-It-Yourselfers who have left positive reviews. If all you want is to be left alone to do the work yourself, Berkeley Marine Center will do that, just hope they dont drop your boat from the lift, like they have done a number of times

In the last few years things have gotten much worse. Multiple people have had to call the police to protect themselves from the yard owner. There was actually a hostage taking incident reportedly over a bill - in which have a dozen police cars were needed. It was described in detail along with the police report number on the old Sailnet posting.
