Lied about rental price

My family and I took a trip to saint George, Utah this last week Oct 8-10. We had made arrangement for ATV rentals. And had scheduled three Rhino ATV's through Torque motorsport rentals in Hurricane, Utah. I had spoken with Shawn who seems to be part owner or manager with his father Mark. I asked Shawn when booking the reservation if he would offer a discount on our rentals because we were renting 3 ATV's, and we would not arrive at his location to pick up the machines until 2pm, and would only be renting them for a half day, returning them that night, or in the morning at 8am. He had stated "we normally do not offer half day rental prices, but I will discount them $25.00 each."

I arrived at their location at 2pm on Oct. 8 to pick up the ATV's when Mark gave me the invoice for the rental, I said "oh, Shawn gave a discount of $25.00 per machine because we're only using them half day." Shawn was talking on the phone, and said to me "you would have to be back by 5pm for a half day rental." I said "You never said we would have to be back by 5pm to get the $25.00 off." They did say a full day rental was either return at 5pm or return the next morning at 8am it was the renter's choice. The point being they didn't offer a half day rental price, Shawn offer the $25.00 off because of the times I said I would pick them up; and drop them off, and the amount of machines we were renting. All shawn said is "were sorry", but no refund.

Now $25.00 is not that big of deal; so we didn't argue the point. However the principle is important. If you run a business you need to do what you say you will do, and not make up a half day return time when the customer arrives, and not tell the customer about it before hand. I would suggest you beware of Torque Motorsport rentals in Hurricane, Utah they lied to us about the rental discount, and were unwilling to refund us when they knew they had made a mistake.
