A Paramount Scam

Cancelled gym membership in March. I was leaving the state of Arizona and could not attend gym. Cancelled and signed cancellation form along with gym manager. He was clearly not happy and made me wait. He didn't ask why? Any problems? You know, how can we get you back? So that right there wasn't a good sign. He stormed off like a baby.

Paramount Acceptance is the collector of fees for Powerhouse Gym. They sent me a letter stating they couldn't get my payment and charged me 55.00. Yes, I overdrew my credit card and I sent them a check for the amount.

I moved and thought all was good. I recently looked at my credit card statement online and saw that PA was still charging me 25.00 monthly. I called them and they said that my account wasn't closed due to my delinquent charges (which I paid). They HAD received a cancellation notice but did nothing with it.

The wonderful 15 year old at PA who answered the phone stated to me that it was MY responsibility to check on these things and that I would have to close my account with the gym AGAIN.

Every gym's phone numbers in the whole state of Arizona are not working.
